SKIN PROBLEMS, TREATING

Many dogs have some kind of skin problems during their life. Here some good tips how to get rid of them if you just follow these steps.

1 - skin problems comes and goes and they are NEVER fatal, this mean that there is no hurry or reason to panic. Like humans, most skin problems seem to depend of the age. Young dogs have more problems than adults. So if your young dog have skin problems they will disappear propably by just waiting 6 months.

2 - demodex, practically ALL dogs have it, in tests 90 % dogs have it but this do not mean that this is the reason to skin problems. However, if your dog have skin problems and you take it to the vet the vet will find demodex in 90% of cases because most dogs have it ... even if it isn't the reason to the problems.
But because Treating demodex is easy, use ivermectin and that's it. No other treats work or are necessary (do not use ivermectine on collies or collie mix breed, they will die).
NOTE! See also the yard tip about demodex.

3- allergy might be the cause and here is a catch, too. Let's say that your dog is allergic to something. If the dog still keep on eating that stuff the dog will soon show allergic signs to practically anything (same thing with humans). If you take a dog in this phase to the vet the dog will get positive test results for any allergy test. So, you wont know what the dog is sensitive to at all.
The treat for this is easy but hard to follow. It goes like this, feed the dog with boiled rice and raw chicken but nothing else. Keep on doing this for at least two months. Do not give even smallest amount of anything, not a bone, bisquit or other shit. Just keep on the rice & chicken diet.
If the skin problems continues after two months dieting then you know the dogs skin problems is not about the food, it's about somehing else.
If the skin problems disappear then it MIGHT be about the food. You can continue with the rice & chicken diet or you can graduately add other stuff to the food but only one addition in time and wait a week or two.
Remember that allergies dissapear, too.
One typical thing dogs are allergic for is the cow protein and that you can find practically anywhere, milk, lamb, almost all dog foods etc.

4 - parasites, demodex (see above) is a skin parasite but also the inner parasites causes skin problems. Solution is to deworn the dog, deworn it well plus give ivermectine. Ask your vet for a good program.

5 - other diseaces like cancer may cause skin problems, too. If you feel that you dog might have some other problems, do not hesitate, take him to the vet. It is worth it.

6 - fungus, in some cases there is an irritating fungus living on the dogs skin causing rash and problems. Ask your vet to analyze a skin sample for this.
